Initial trends show UPA, NDA neck and neck

COUNTING OF votes has began in all the 28 states and seven union territories on at 8 am on Saturday morning (May 16), as political parties keep their fingers crossed. Elections results this time are likely to throw some unexpected results as there was no major issue or political wave guiding the electorate.

As the counting progressed, the initial trends results show both Congress and NDA fighting neck and neck. UPA was in alead in 34 seats and NDA in 30, whereas the Third Front was ahead in 13 seats by 9 am.
